In this fun, one day workshop you will learn how to create a seascape using the unique art form of needle felting. You will learn about compositions and how to layer and blend the wool to create a tranquil scene and there will be plenty of demonstrations and hands on assistance. I must warn you that this technique is addictive!
Rebecca will start by introducing needle felting, it’s history and explaining the qualities of the wool. Before you get started, you will have the opportunity to practice blending colours and be shown how to apply the wool in certain ways to create different textures.
You might like to bring an image along to use, for example, a sunset you have captured, somewhere that is a ‘special place’. The image is just the starting point, as your piece will naturally develop and change slightly as you work with the wool, so don’t worry if you don’t have a specific image to work from.
Please arrive from 9.30 to help set up the tables and chairs.
£10 for materials payable to the tutor on the day for wool and 18cm square frame.
Attendees to bring their own lunch.
HACG will provide tea/coffee/milk.
Time and location: 9 May 2025 - 10:00am to 3:00pm at Dunsden Village Hall, RG4 9QG
