Sheila Ferris is a ceramic artist and experiments with slab built and coil pots to create functional pieces. She is drawn to the organic shapes and textures that can be created with these techniques. She uses flecked clays, sometimes together with a heavily grogged black clay. Sheila strives to create pieces that are both functional and beautiful. She is inspired by Scandinavian designs and the woodlands surrounding our lovely town. Her pieces are fired to high temperatures which insures that they are durable and can be used for everyday purposes. Sheila exhibits in local events.

As a rank amateur, I have really appreciated the workshops that Henley Art & Crafts Guild run. They are an inspiration and a great motivator to get the brushes or pencils out. I am still trying to find my métier, experimenting with all sorts of media and styles, including abstract. The journey is fun!

Berkshire born artist, Simon Pink has become well-known for his abstract and contemporary brightly coloured paintings. Simon works directly onto the canvas, pulling ideas from his thoughts and emotional response to nature; the results are energising images with hints of nature's forms and textures, a mix of excitement and calm. Simon's strong artistic and design sense has ensured an excitingly varied career in the arts. He has worked in interior design, product styling, fine arts and book illustration. Simon has written and illustrated several children’s books which have all been published.

I am a local Oxfordshire artist. I was educated in Oxford and did a foundation course in Art and Design at Oxford Polytechnic 1980-81 before studying for a BA hons in studio art and art history at Univ. Wales at Aberystwyth.

I spent a scholarship year at Univ. California San Diego and Santa Cruz where I studied under Prof Peter Reyner Banham; a particular influence.

In California I was introduced to the work of Richard Diebenkorn who together with the great ceramicists: Lucy Rie and Grayson Perry remain the major influences on my work.

Moulsford-based fused glass artist Sue Avery brings over five years of experience to her craft, specializing in abstract sculptures and lifelike copper foiled pieces.
