I work in oils for their brilliance and subtleties of colour. I am interested in the effect of colour on feeling and emotion, and for me the close correspondence between music (especially jazz and classical) influence me and my work.

I have a life long passion and interest in art and nature. I studied at Dyfed College of Art and Design, studying Wildlife Illustration during the 1980`s. For the last 35 years I have been working in the art and design supply industry but now would like to spend more time developing my artwork. My work reflects nature, changing season`s including weather and light in landscapes.

I work in acrylics and mixed media with an emphasis on mark making to produce realism, experimenting with shape, colour and texture.

My starting point in arts and crafts was through textiles - I spent two years in Canada learning to weave, during which time I discovered hand made felt. I explored felt making for many years and made both small wearable items and larger wall hangings, and I took part in various exhibitions. I completed a Diploma in Stitched Textiles and was a member of the Odyssey exhibiting group. Over the last few years I have spent more time in painting and drawing, printmaking and collage.

I went to Art school at 16 studying textile design and then had a long career in the publishing industry as Art Director.

I took up painting about 10 years ago and since retiring I paint daily… well when I’m feeling inspired! I exhibit at Oxford Art Weeks and this year as part of Thame Art Crawl.
