My starting point in arts and crafts was through textiles - I spent two years in Canada learning to weave, during which time I discovered hand made felt. I explored felt making for many years and made both small wearable items and larger wall hangings, and I took part in various exhibitions. I completed a Diploma in Stitched Textiles and was a member of the Odyssey exhibiting group. Over the last few years I have spent more time in painting and drawing, printmaking and collage.

I am a fused glass artist based in Watlington. My glass is based on texture and definition with many overlapping layers glass filled with small glass crystals. I prefer to work with transparent glass, which sparkles with light; either on a windowsill reflecting the day light or on a mantel piece twinkling with candlelight. I am hugely influenced by nature’s colours, especially the Chilterns, where I live and the Mediterranean sea, where I come from. I design and make a variety of ornamental or functional unique items. They are created from sheets of glass, which are cut to shape and size and fired in my kiln called “Pablo”in my home studio. I exhibit every year at Oxfordshire Art Weeks and at various local fairs and markets. This year I exhibited for the first time at Henley Arts Trail as well. I offer workshops to small groups.

I went to Art school at 16 studying textile design and then had a long career in the publishing industry as Art Director.

I took up painting about 10 years ago and since retiring I paint daily… well when I’m feeling inspired! I exhibit at Oxford Art Weeks and this year as part of Thame Art Crawl.

I am a local former solicitor and having just retired now have time to improve my fine liner drawing that I have enjoyed especially in Spain on recent holidays. I also hope to explore other media.
