I am Jayne Kozlow a Wokingham based artist and printmaker. Following the completion of a Foundation Diploma in Art & Design in 2019 I have been exploring the medium of printmaking, creating handmade original limited editions of strong characterful images using Collagraph techniques. My editions are typically limited to 5 prints and I often create small series of related works where a subject has particularly interested me. I work from both my home studio using my Ironbridge press and the print room at South Hill Park.

I am a member of the Reading Guild of Artists and I have exhibited with them as well as the Southbank Printmakers, South hill Park, West Dean and the Reading Museum

I have been a member of the Guild for so many years and have met some lovely people. Exhibited at HAT (from the start) and with various galleries. My feel good day is being in my studio just experimenting with colour and at the moment using basic elements which is what I am concentrating on to get a body of work together. Anselm Keifer comes to mind (not his scale ) but I just love the rawness of his process.

I am a potter working full time out of my rented studio in Turville.

I am an intuitive potter, relishing every element of the making process. I work on the wheel using stoneware and porcelain making functional pots be they bowls or vases, mugs or jugs. I sell direct from my studio as well as through local events such as HAT.

You start with a lump of clay and knead it through until it’s smooth throughout. This stage is the beginning of the melding between the material and the potter. A good thwack settles the clay on the wheel head and there begins the control and guidance from which a finished pot will emerge.

My shapes are fluid, organic and always to be stroked and held. My glazes are earthy, comforting and quiet. Each one a new beginning, a new creation.

I’m an Oxfordshire potter working from my garden studio, where I also teach regular lessons. I enjoy throwing stoneware and porcelain at the wheel, and occasionally cast and hand-build too. My childhood home was filled with antiques and the Art Deco tea sets and mid-century pots have had a lasting influence on my style. I also take inspiration from nature and like to make functional pieces that have simple and pleasing forms. Clean lines, gentle curves and simplicity in the glazing define my design style. Occasionally I like to make quirky playful pieces too.’
